Ground breaking ceremony for BELFOX gate automation in Mittelkalbach.
BELFOX is expanding their facility in Mittelkalbach and is setting a new architectural and production standards. “Today is a good day for BELFOX and Mittelkalbach.” With these words the management board of BELFOX Rrezarta Beqiraj, Edgar Fierle and Jörg Kuchhäuser, and mayor Florian Hölzer opened the breaking ground ceremony for BELFOX’ new competence centre for development and production. The company has produced gate drive systems for customers across Europe for over 32 years, being the market leader in many countries. To meet the growing demands of the market designing and erecting a new building was necessary. The previous facility, which is in close proximity to the new site, has become too small. After a planning phase that took almost 2 years, two production buildings, with a total production area of over 3000m² that are joined to one another are being built. Separated only by an atrium from the 2-story administrative wing, with its exhibition and training rooms, as well as the modern office spaces, where the teams from development, sales, purchasing, marketing, product management, finances and the head of manufacturing will be sharing the sufficient 1000 m² space. The building project is completed with an outdoor testing facility which is 600 m² in size, equipped with different drives and gate technology to match. New products such as high-speed drives for sliding and folding gates or optimized barrier systems now also find sufficient space in our production buildings. “Ergonomic workstations in production and office areas were of great importance to us when planning the building complex. Only content employees, who identify themselves with their job, allow us to reach the level of quality our customers expect, and that we have set for ourselves.”Rrezarta Beqiraj, Managing CEO, emphasizes.
BELFOX invested several million Euros into this new prestigious building, which is located at the entrance of Mittelkalbach. This was a condition set by the local council of Kalbach who had to first designate a new building site. During the ceremony the management board sincerely thanked the local council of Kalbach and Mayor Hölzer for their flexibility and cooperation.
“Our place as the market leader for sliding gate drives in central Europe made this investment imperative.” Managing Director Edgar Fierle confirmed. With its 40 employees in Kalbach, BELFOX produces quality “made in Germany”. The look of the new building will project this to the outside. With 70 % of the total turnover being generated with exports, BELFOX is also market leader in the neighboring countries Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands. The subsidiary BELFOX UK serves the markets in Great Britain and Ireland. Jörg Kuchhäuser who will be a member of the management board as of October is already looking forward to the opening celebrations. “The breaking ground ceremony was the first step, now we hope that the construction work progresses quickly, so that we can open the building at the end of the year.” This concludes another chapter in the history of the long-established company from Mittelkalbach.
